CAB warning cuts will hit sick and disabled hard

The seriously ill and disabled will lose out if proposed welfare cuts go ahead, the Cambridge Citizen Advice Bureau (CAB) warns.

The CAB has issued a stark warning that people who become disabled or too ill to work could be up to 60 per cent worse off than they are now if sickness and disability benefits are slashed.

Under the proposals, contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), the main benefit paid to people too ill to work, will be time-limited to 12 months for everyone except the most severely disabled.

Yes, at last CAB telling it like it is……but will they listen???

Erm… One major thing the DWP fails to acknowledge is… NHS waiting lists?!! Diagnosis times!?! Another case of a lack of joined-up thinking just at the time when we’re seeing OUR NHS being broken up too!
