City demo bid to halt £13m cut in services

Hundreds of protesters have taken to the streets of Glasgow to oppose plans to slash £13million from disabled people’s services.

The George Square rally was organised by the Defend Glasgow Services Campaign, which claims Glasgow City Council’s plans to cut £6m this year and £7m next year amount to an attack on the city’s most vulnerable people.

An estimated 300 people heard speeches from union officials and carers who called on the council to rethink its savings proposals.
