CAMERON PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

David Cameron pledged to help the mother of the disabled child Celyn Vincent who is faced with putting her child into residential care because she is receiving inadequate respite.  The Government claim they are putting an extra £800 million into short breaks for families facing the daily grind of caring for someone with complex needs yet they have not ringfenced it.

As sad as I am for Mr Camerons personal loss I cannot see how he can identify with ordinary families who are without a personal fortune to make up for what the State will not provide.

Equally I cannot see how the decisions are made by those who have read a book on disability and not those like myself, with a disabled child, who have lived it.

BUT WHAT IS SO FAR UNREPORTED IS THAT THE STATE WHICH ALSO INCLUDES THE LEGAL SERVICES COMMISSION IS NOW REDUCING THE CHANCE TO JUDICIALLY REVIEW THE DECISIONS MADE BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES ABOUT DISABLED AND ELDERLY PEOPLES CARE.

18 months ago Yvonne Hossack was brought before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal in an attempt by 3 Local Authorities to bring her down.  Can it be just a co-incidence that this very experienced Solicitor Advocate has now lost her Legal Advice Contract from The Legal Services Commission?

Yvonne will be representing disabled people in the High Court tomorrow, after working through the night again to help the dying, the elderely, the disabled children and their exhausted parents.

At 6 oclock tonight I will be speaking at a meeting at The Guildhall in Northampton, organised by the local Defend Public Services and Trades Union Council, to discuss cuts in services.

Contact Chris Kinsey on 0771 849 1443 or Yvonne Hossack on 07739974979
