Benefit cheats -Isn’t it time politicians picked on someone their own size?

As with all wars, in the government’s ‘war on benefit cheats’, the first casualty appears to be the truth. The evidence has long shown that at least as much money in benefits – and probably a lot more – is saved because of people’s reluctance to claim their entitlement, than is lost through bad administration and abuse. Now a new sense of division and oppression is developing in our society. I listen to people working in the private sector baying for public sector pensions to be reduced, rather than making the case for their own to be increased.

    I totally agree with this article, as it is obvious that the unsick and the daily mail readers of this country are being whipped up by the government via the tabloid press. Yet, again it will be the most vulnerable in society the easy targets who will suffer from this wonderful welfare reform, aided by the lib-dems ( dead men walking party). It’s time we as a society stood up for people who have no voice, and demand cuts are made in arms and other wasteful areas, and the most vulnerable are either left alone, or better still given all the help and care they need, a novel concept i know!
